Ice Hockey

Movement or coordination affected in the legs to a moderate degree.

Movement in both legs affected to a high degree.

Movement highly affected in the mid-trunk and legs.

Absence of legs just above the knee.

Absence of one lower leg from the knee.


Para Ice Hockey uses a straight in/out classification system.

Players have leg movement affected from a moderate to high degree, or are those with absence of one or both legs.

Players need a strong core to balance and hold two sticks, one in each hand.

The sticks have a spike-end, to dig into the ice and propel the sledge forward and blade-end to hit the puck.
